Basics of Bible Interpretation

3 ನ 3 ದಿನ

6. Understand the Difference Between Description and Doctrine

Not everything in the Bible is an instruction. Some passages describe what happened; others prescribe what we should believe or do. For example, the early apostles cast lots before the Holy Spirit came. That was descriptive, not a pattern to follow.

7. Keep Christ at the Center

The Bible is not about rules, rituals, or religion. It is about Christ and His redemptive work. Whether you are reading Genesis, the Gospels, or Revelation, always ask:

What does this reveal about Christ?

What does it show me about my life in Him?

8. Use Study Tools but Depend on the Spirit of Truth

Bible study tools such as Hebrew and Greek lexicons, concordances, and reference materials can greatly enhance your understanding. They provide historical, linguistic, and cultural insight that can illuminate the text. However, your dependence should not be on concordances or commentaries. Your dependence must be on the truth of the Word of God as revealed by the Holy Spirit. God desires to reveal His truth to you personally. That living, individual revelation should always be your highest pursuit.

Final Thoughts

When the Word is rightly interpreted, it brings light, life, and liberty. You are not just reading to gain information. You are receiving revelation. You are looking into the mirror of your identity in Christ.

“The entrance of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” (Psalm 119:130)
