A Cross-Shaped Gift

“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”

The story of Christmas reaches far beyond the manger. The baby wrapped in cloths would one day stretch out His arms on a cross. From His first cry in Bethlehem to His final breath on Calvary, Jesus lived with one purpose: to bring you back to God.

The manger points forward to the cross, and the cross points forward to the empty tomb. His birth announced hope, His life revealed truth, His death secured forgiveness, and His resurrection opened the way to eternal life.

God gave His Son because of His deep love for you.

Jesus carried your sin, bore your shame, and conquered your death. Every wound He endured became a pathway for your healing —healing for your heart, your soul, and even your relationships. Every drop of blood He shed became a promise of peace and restoration.

Think of what this means for your life today. God’s love draws close with certainty—cradled in the manger, poured out on the cross, and alive through the resurrection. Together, these moments tell the story of a God who came near, gave everything, and now offers you life that never ends.

Christmas calls you to embrace a Savior who brings peace, forgiveness, and eternal hope. The child who entered the world in humility is the Lord who reigns in glory—and He invites you to make His gift your own.

Lord Jesus, thank You that the manger leads to the cross and the cross leads to life. Help me to receive the fullness of Your gift—peace, forgiveness, and eternal hope. Amen.
