The Advent of HOPE and the Object of Our Faith.

I have an adorable Chihuahua named Lucy. She’s been my best friend for the last twelve years. I am her person. She follows me everywhere — up mountains, across streams, even into ponds — Lucy is always right there. Every time I leave the house, whether it’s a short trip to the store or a week-long vacation, Lucy waits with great expectation for my return. She sits at the top of our long driveway, knowing that my truck will eventually pull up and I’ll come back to her. I want to wait on Jesus like Lucy waits for me - with great expectation that he will be back soon!

I know Jesus is coming back because the Bible tells me so. Our hope in Jesus is secure because God has promised a future forever with Him. And because of that, we are to live with great expectation for what’s to come!

Remember, Isaiah served during a time of devastation and moral failure. He lived amid judgment, division, evil, and corruption. Yet — he focused on the Author of Hope. His life wasn’t easy, but his hope was built on the promise of his Creator. Not his circumstances — his future.
Not his pain — his salvation. Not the people around him — but Jesus, a man he had never met, yet had been divinely promised.

Are you living with great expectation of Christ’s return?

The Advent of HOPE and the Object of Our Faith.

Advent invites us to remember both Jesus’ first coming and to live expectantly for His return. Biblical hope is rooted not in circumstances but in the unchanging promises of God. Let's examine where our hope is fixed, to eliminate hopelessness by focusing our eyes on Jesus, and to live differently because we trust the One who is coming again. Christ is our anchor, our expectation, and the object of our hope – what a beautiful reminder of why we celebrate his birth.
