When God Rebuilds Differently

When my business closed, I assumed the rebuilding would look familiar — same structure, just with more prayer and less pride. You know, a “sanctified version” of my old life. But God, being the master architect that He is, had a completely different design in mind.

He didn’t renovate; He reconstructed.

I remember sitting in prayer one morning, half-expecting Him to tell me to restart the company. Instead, He gave me a vision for discipleship through books — not profit-driven, but purpose-driven. I almost laughed. “Lord, literature? You mean the thing I did as a side project?”

Yes, exactly that. He took what I considered a hobby and turned it into a calling. And because He was the one rebuilding, the foundation was different this time — faith instead of fear, obedience instead of ambition.

The new work didn’t grow fast, but it grew strong. Nations opened, authors rose, and hearts were changed. And I realised something precious: God never rebuilds to restore what you lost; He rebuilds to reveal what He always had in mind.

When God rebuilds, He rarely repeats. What looks like a downgrade may actually be the blueprint for destiny. Don’t mourn the old structure — rejoice that the new one is earthquake-proof. His version of “starting over” always ends better than yours.
