I used to think strategy was my superpower. I could forecast, budget, and map a five-year plan with the precision of a chess player. But when my own strategies failed spectacularly, I had to admit—God is better at this game than I am.

One morning, while re-reading Genesis 30, I saw Jacob receiving heaven’s business plan—one involving spotted and speckled goats. Hardly the kind of pitch you’d find in a corporate boardroom, but it worked. That story caught my attention. I realised that divine ideas don’t always make human sense.

Then it happened to me. When God gave me the vision for CLC Kenya’s publishing ministry, I didn’t get a detailed manual. Just a quiet nudge: “Start again, but this time, let Me lead.”

It wasn’t flashy or logical. But somehow, obedience turned into opportunity. From one small press project came doors I never saw coming—authors, nations, impact. It was as if Heaven had been waiting for me to stop depending on my spreadsheets so I could finally receive His blueprint.

Now I still plan—just with one key difference. My meetings start with prayer, not coffee.
