Thanksgiving Every Dayಮಾದರಿ

"Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ."
Ephesians 1:9–12
Thousands of people flocked to hear Charles Spurgeon preach in London every Sunday. In fact, the number of people who wanted to attend was so far beyond the capacity of the building that tickets (registrations) were issued for different services to keep the crowd from overflowing. The story goes that a member of Spurgeon's church was visited by a friend from America, and he arranged tickets so his guest could hear his pastor preach. After the sermon, as they walked toward the exit, he asked what his friend had thought and the American visitor replied, “What a preacher!” According to the story, Spurgeon happened to be passing close enough to hear, and said to a member of his staff, “I wish he had said what a Savior instead.”
The purpose of God for our lives is not for us to receive honor and glory. All the good things that we accomplish are only possible because of Him, and He alone deserves all the praise for anything we do. We must be careful not to allow pride and a desire to be lifted up to fill our hearts and deter us from giving all glory to God. We should seek to do all that we can for Him, in gratitude for all He has done for us, but our motive cannot be our promotion. “And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not” (Jeremiah 45:5).
Our purpose in everything we do should be to honor and glorify God above all else.
