30 Days of Praying for Children and Familiesಮಾದರಿ

Here we see God’s heart for his people, especially those who are marginalised.
“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.” (Deuteronomy 10:12-22, NIV)
He calls his people to be his hands and his feet, welcoming and caring for the ‘fatherless’, the ‘widow’, and the ‘foreigner’. These are groups of people who wouldn’t have had a support network around them. This could represent anyone who is on the margins, facing life alone.
We see that God not only cares for their physical needs, providing food for their empty stomachs and clothing for their bare backs, but he also advocates for them. He defends their cause in a world where they would have been silenced, marginalised, and ignored.
Just as he called the Israelites to walk in obedience to him and serve him in this way, so he is calling the Church to this today.
Prayer
Today, pause for a moment at a mealtime.
As you sit down, before eating, perhaps in your thanksgiving prayers, remember the children and young people in care who are sitting down today to a meal in an unfamiliar home with unfamiliar people and unfamiliar food, adjusting to this new season of immense change.
Pray for all those who are adjusting to this change: for carers, birth family, and siblings. Ask that God would provide for their physical needs as well as defending their cause.
