One Prayer Away
How would you pray… if you knew you were one prayer away? One prayer away from your breakthrough?
How would you worship… if you knew you were one hallelujah away from your miracle?
In 1 Samuel 1, we find Hannah—year after year—coming to the temple with the same prayer. Verse 3 says, “Year after year…” Pause and think about that. Have you ever wanted something so deeply that you prayed for it over and over, through seasons, through tears, through silence?
I know that feeling. When my wife and I were believing to have a child. Believing for healing for our daughter. Holding on to the horn of the altar in prayer.
That’s when I learned something life-changing: “A faith that cannot be tested cannot be trusted.”
Every delay has the potential to deepen your dependence on God. Every “not yet” can sharpen your spiritual hearing. In my own journey, I discovered that some of my greatest revelations have come right in the middle of the hardest challenges. I thank God He didn’t deliver me before I was ready—because in the waiting, I received the revelation that “I would not stop praying until I see what I heard!”
Hannah’s story proves it. She thought she was just praying for a son, but she was being prepared to steward a prophet. The tears, the irritation, the misunderstanding from Eli—all of it was shaping her into the kind of mother who could dedicate her child fully to the Lord.
One day, her prayer broke through. The God who had been silent suddenly spoke from heaven, and her barren womb became the birthplace of Samuel—the prophet who would anoint kings.
Your “year after year” season is not wasted. The pain, the delay, the misunderstanding—God is using all of it to position you for something greater than what you’re asking for.
Revelation is birthed in the midst of obstacles. What you carry after the trial will be far greater than what you thought you were praying for.
So, if you knew you were one prayer away, how would you pray today? If you knew you were one hallelujah away, how would you worship today? Don’t hold back. You are Just One Prayer Away!!!
Prayer: Lord, help me to persevere in prayer and worship, even when I don’t see the answer. Teach me to trust Your timing and Your process, knowing that You are preparing something greater than I can imagine.
Amen.

The Ministry Table is a 30-day devotional plan created by and for ministry leaders. Each day, you’ll hear from a different pastor, leader, or ministry practitioner — voices from many churches, traditions, and places — offering encouragement, challenge, and wisdom drawn from their own walk with Jesus. Together, these reflections form a shared table of daily bread: a space where leaders can be fed, strengthened, and reminded that we’re not walking this road alone.
