Peace in the Stormಮಾದರಿ

Abide in Him
Jesus uses this vineyard picture to show us how vital connection with Him really is. He says, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” That means He’s the source, the lifeline, the root. We’re not designed to produce fruit on our own — branches don’t survive detached.
The key word here is remain. Not visit occasionally, not connect when it’s convenient — remain. Abiding in Him means daily dependence, constant connection, and steady trust. The promise is clear: “you will bear much fruit.” Fruit isn’t forced; it’s the natural result of staying connected to the vine.
But then Jesus adds the hard truth: “Apart from me you can do nothing.” That doesn’t mean you can’t do things; it means nothing lasting, nothing eternal, nothing Kingdom-impacting will flow apart from Him. Our talents might open doors, but only abiding in Him produces fruit that remains.
Fruit doesn’t grow because branches try harder—it grows because they stay connected. I’ve tried to run on empty, serving, working, and pouring without abiding. It always ended in burnout. But when I slowed down to stay connected to Him, I had strength that wasn’t mine. Abiding means making space for God in daily life, not just moments of crisis. Apart from Him, our efforts dry up. With Him, our lives produce lasting fruit.
Stop trying to manufacture fruit; focus on maintaining connection. Spend at least 10 minutes today simply abiding—no agenda, no rushing. Just sit in His presence and let Him refill you. Abiding isn’t passive — it’s choosing to root yourself daily in prayer, Word, and obedience. Remember: your power doesn’t come from striving, it comes from staying.
