We Can Worship Jesus
Activity (Optional)
Sing or listen to a Christmas worship song together.
Devotional
When you hear the word "worship," I wonder what comes to mind. Maybe you think of singing songs at church or raising your hands in the air. These are great, but are only part of our worship to God.
When the wise men found the place where baby Jesus was, they were "overjoyed" (Matthew 2:10, NIV). This means they were so full of joy it was bubbling over! Their whole lives changed. They bowed down on their hands and knees. This was their way of saying: We know you are God. You’re important. You’re special. They gave him gifts–expensive perfumes that cost them a lot of money. This might seem like a strange gift for a baby, but this was what was given to kings at the time. This was their way of saying: Jesus is worth giving things up for. He’s worth everything.
Just like the wise men, we want to worship Jesus from our hearts. We want to show him that we love him because of who he is and what he means to us in our daily lives.

Thank you, Jesus, for being so worthy of our love and worship. Help us to show you how much you mean to us–not only with words and songs, but also with our whole lives.
