In the Christmas story, every person had a special part to play. Mary gave birth to Jesus; Joseph protected his family; the shepherds spread the good news, and the angels announced Jesus’ birth. All of these people had a part to play in God’s big story, with Jesus as the main character. The story is about God’s love for all people. An amazing thing about God’s story is that it started before the world was created, and it will go on forever. Every person has a part to play in this story. Whether we are singing songs of praise like the angels, bringing gifts to worship like the wise men, or telling everyone about Jesus like the shepherds, we all matter in God’s big story.
