Awestruck: 30 Days of Wonder in the Bibleಮಾದರಿ

Rome's power loomed large. Darkness covered the land. The cross looked like defeat.
But Jesus' last words revealed something deeper. With His final breath, He quoted Scripture:
"Into your hands I commit my spirit." (Psalm 31:5a NIV)
Even in death, He trusted Himself fully to the Father.
I think about how Jesus could have called down angels to rescue Him. He could have stepped off that cross and walked away. But He didn't. He stayed, not because He had to, but because He chose to.
Here's the wonder: Jesus wasn't forced onto that cross. He wasn’t trapped there. He chose it. For you. For me. For the world.
The nails pierced His body, but love held Him there.
This moment wasn't random. It fulfilled centuries of prophecy. On the cross, God's justice and mercy met in one place. Sin faced its judgment. Love poured itself out. And our story reached its turning point.
What looked like God's greatest defeat became His greatest victory. What seemed like the end of hope revealed a new beginning.
As you read about the cross, see the center of all Scripture, the clearest proof of God's heart.
Reflect:
What does it mean to you that Jesus chose the cross out of love?
Tomorrow we'll explore the moment when death lost its power.
