GENESIS 44
Again, Joseph decides to test his brothers, bringing them back to Egypt and expressing his desire to keep Benjamin as a slave. But Judah — the same one who had planned to kill Joseph and who soon tasted God’s justice — now rises as an intercessor, offering himself as a slave in place of his younger brother. We can see a change in Judah’s heart, a redemption from God reflected in his choices and actions.
The most amazing thing is knowing that his descendant, Jesus, would do the same later on: offering Himself as a sacrifice in place of all of us, His brothers. Jesus is the Brother who carried the weight of our sins and freed us from all slavery. He stands as our intercessor before God, presenting us as children before the Father.
LET'S PRAY:
You have not only been called to serve Jesus, but also to serve with Jesus! Pray that during your journey, regardless of the area in which you are serving, you will learn what this means.
