God Is the Strength of My Heart
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Strength of my heart and my Portion forever.” — Psalm 73:26
We all face moments when weakness takes over. Our bodies get tired. Our emotions run dry. Our minds can’t focus. Sometimes it feels like our “flesh and heart” are both failing. The psalmist Asaph knew that feeling well.
Asaph struggled with what he saw in the world. The wicked seemed to prosper while the righteous suffered. It shook his faith, and he admitted that his heart almost slipped. But then, he turned his focus back to God. He realized that no matter what he saw, God was still his Strength and his Portion.
What does that mean for us? It means God is both our power to endure and our eternal reward. He doesn’t just give us strength for today; He also promises Himself as our inheritance forever. That perspective shifts everything. Our circumstances may be hard, but they are temporary. God’s Strength and Presence are eternal.
Even when we feel like we have nothing left to give, God steps in. His Spirit strengthens us from the inside out. When we are weak, He is strong. When we are empty, He fills us. When we are weary, He gives us rest.
Your flesh and heart may fail—but that is not the end of the story. God is the strength of your heart, always.
Reflection Question:
When your strength feels gone, how can you remind yourself that God is both your Strength and your Portion forever?
