One Body, Lots of Members

I’m an accountant by trade and often joke with my colleagues that they all made poor career choices because they didn’t choose accountancy. They do look at me sceptically when I advise them of this! However, truth be told, if we all chose the same thing, then how could life be fulfilling and interesting? There would be so many gaps in our lives. Fortunately, God has given us gifts and talents that we can use for the benefit of all.

Through our radio broadcasting, we’re all working for the ministry of Jesus and wanting to proclaim the risen Lord to our community, and what a joy it is! In that regard, we are all one body with many members. However, we all play different functions in that ministry. We all bring our own gifts and talents to the ministry and to each other.

Some of us are on air, some are in our sponsorship team, others do marketing, others tech, others content, video, news, management, admin and so on – you get the picture.

So, as a microcosm, we are like the verses here in Romans. We are all in Christ and, though many, we form one body and each of us belongs to the other because we have different functions.

As believers in Christ, we are all part of His body and He has enabled us to bring different skills and abilities to uplift and build that body. That is a joy and privilege that we should never take lightly.
