Every Believer Sent

When was the last time you looked at your life and asked, "Am I living sent?"

In 1984, I came to know Christ personally—and everything changed. I still remember that fresh joy, that overwhelming sense of being loved and forgiven. I thought: “Everyone who knows Jesus must be sharing about Him!” It made sense to me. Why would anyone keep such good news to themselves?

You can imagine my shock and confusion when I learned the truth. Many who called themselves Christians weren’t sharing their faith. I couldn’t make sense of it. How could someone know Jesus and stay silent?

Jesus' gave a command to go and make disciples. Obeying the command goes beyond pastors, missionaries, and trained evangelists. It’s for everyone. Every believer is sent!

Charles Spurgeon once said, “Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter.” That might sound strong, but he captured the urgency and weight of our calling. We are all called to go. To live sent. To make disciples wherever we are—at home, at work, in schools, online, and in every sphere of life.

This isn’t about guilt—it’s about joy. It’s about living with the deep conviction that Christ not only saved us from something but also for something. Sharing Jesus is not a task. It’s a privilege. A lifestyle. A response of love.

If you’ve ever felt hesitant, unworthy, or unsure how to begin, remember this. The authority behind the mission is not yours. Jesus said that all authority has been given to Him. Then He told us, “Go...” You’re not going alone. Jesus has sent you, and He assures you that He will always be with you.

Why not take a moment to ask God to show you someone you can connect with and share His love? Start a conversation. Share your story. Invite someone to take one step closer to Christ. Let’s live like we truly believe we’ve been sent.

“Lord, thank You for saving me and for sending me. Give me boldness, compassion, and opportunities to share You with others. Help me live like I’ve truly been sent. Amen.”
