30 Scripture Based Prayers for Your Marriage

30 ನ 13 ದಿನ

Holy Spirit, help us prioritize praying together daily.

Ready to get uncomfortable? Want to know the very best thing you can do to grow the intimacy in your marriage? Pray together. It’s that simple. And yet, it’s the very routine most couples dread beginning. Prayer is intimate and prayer is vulnerable, and for whatever reason, praying with your spouse is often intimidating. Do it anyway.

Praying together allows you to bear one another's burdens, dive into a deeper emotional connection, and invite the presence of the Lord into the fabric of your marriage. Matthew 18:20 (NIV) gives us the promise that if two or more gather in the name of the Lord, the Lord will be there with them. That’s powerful. The Lord himself will be in the midst of your marriage, guiding your prayers, your conversations, your future!

If this feels difficult, unfamiliar, or even like something you'd rather avoid all together, rest assured that it's the enemy at work trying to keep you and your spouse from uniting in the most powerful defense of your marriage. Start where you are. Use written prayers if needed. If only one of you is comfortable praying out loud, let that be where you start. Even if all you can say is “Thank you, Jesus,” join hands and pour out your gratitude together. Just pray…together.

Today’s Prayer:

Lord, help us move past what is uncomfortable and unknown to experience a deeper connection with you and one another. Help us desire time in prayer together. Help us prioritize time in prayer together. Help us, Lord, as we desire to usher your presence into our marriage!

30 Scripture Based Prayers for Your Marriage

Bringing your marriage before the Lord is both powerful and redemptive. When two imperfect people stand on Scripture and invite God to strengthen their bond, they build a defense the enemy cannot break. What a gift to know God is for your marriage, and for you. These next 30 days are an invitation to declare his Word over your relationship and trust him with what only he can do: protect, grow, and fortify your marriage from the inside out.
