Often, we center our prayers around being noticed—by friends, followers, or peers. But Jabez prayed for blessing, not from people, but from God Himself.

1 Chronicles 4:10 contains one of the most simple yet profound prayers in the Bible. Jabez wasn’t praying to be famous. He wasn’t asking to be admired. He was asking God to enlarge his life, his influence, and his legacy—but only in a way that kept him close to God and free from harm.

Jabez teaches us that it's not wrong to ask for more—as long as what we want is from God and for His glory. His prayer wasn’t selfish; it was surrendered. He trusted God to define the blessing and to protect him from pride or pain that could follow.

Blessing isn’t about being known by people. It’s about being used by God.
