01 - LORD'S PRAYER: Meditations by W. Phillip Kellerಮಾದರಿ

04 – Lord´s prayer - The Servant’s Petitions
The second part of the Lord's Prayer begins by speaking of our hunger and need for daily bread and ends with our request to be delivered from evil. These are our petitions.
"Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen". (Matthew 6.11-13 - KJV)
What is bread? Bread begins as the living seed of wheat. Once harvested, it dies, is broken, crushed, and ground into flour. It is then mixed with water, salt, and yeast, kneaded, left to rise, and finally baked in the fire of the oven. Only then does it become bread, ready to be eaten—so that the “life” of the grain may be passed on to the one who eats it.
In the same way, the “life of God” has been made fully accessible to us in His Son. He is the seed of God who was judged, condemned, and died on the cross. From death He rose again, becoming the Living Bread of God for us.
After His resurrection, He became accessible to all people everywhere through His Spirit. Therefore, anyone who hungers for spiritual bread and the life that comes from God may find it through the Holy Spirit—and be truly satisfied.
When we pray, “Oh Father, give us today our daily bread!” it is like saying: “Oh Father, let the life of Jesus, Your Son, become life within my life today!”

Our proposal is to share some reflections on the “Lord’s Prayer,” surely the most well-known passage in the entire Bible. It has been sung in verse and prose, recited as poetry, prayed and chanted across many religions—yet perhaps not always fully understood. For this journey, we draw inspiration from an older book by South African pastor Dr. Weldon Phillip Keller. And here I am, Edilaney Gonçalves, writing to you from Brazil!
