Journey Through the Minor Prophets, Part 3ಮಾದರಿ

Intro
Nicole introduces this lesson about Zechariah, the prophetic book that, for its size, is quoted more in the Gospels than any other Old Testament book.
Zechariah: In the Text
Though a small book, Zechariah is quoted a lot in the Gospels. This has a lot to do with the messianic predictions that included the return of exiles, the reestablishment of worship on Mt Zion, a Davidic ruler, and more.
A Symbol for Zechariah
Zechariah is a book of prophecies and visions that happen at night. Even in Israel’s “night,” these lampstands remind the people that God is still present with them, that he will continue to bring them life, light and purity.
Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep. He asked me, “What do you see?”
I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps. Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.”
Zechariah 4:1-3 (NIV)
