From Waiting to the Immediateಮಾದರಿ

In Him We Find More Than What We’re Looking For
When Jesus told the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and walk,” the original word used for “get up” is the same one frequently used in the New Testament to describe resurrection. That is, Jesus wasn’t just bringing physical healing—He was granting new life. He wasn’t just making him walk; He was declaring him a new creation. Because in Jesus, we always receive much more than what we ask for.
Think of this disabled man: he went from needing help, to get to the pool, to being someone who could not only walk on his own but also carry the very mat that had supported him for so long. That mat, which had represented his limitation, became a testimony of his restoration. When Jesus works, He doesn’t do it halfway. His work is always deeper than we can imagine.
We see it in the Word time and again. Solomon asked for wisdom and received wealth as well. Job, after his painful trial, was blessed with a life even more prosperous than before.
When we decide to position ourselves in the right place, when we go to the right source, we become candidates for our waiting to be transformed into the “immediate”—a sudden move of God that fills us with blessings far greater than our humble requests.
As Ephesians 3:20 expresses it, “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
In Jesus, we always find more than what we’re looking for.
What do you think could happen if God answered your prayer in a way that transformed your whole life—not just your situation?
Prayer: Lord, thank You that through Your Word we understand that in You we find far more than what we seek. Thank You for being a good Father who, in the right time, supplies more than our needs. Help us fix our eyes on You and be ready to move from waiting to the immediate. In Jesus’ name, amen.
