Immersed: Out of the Shallows Into the Deepಮಾದರಿ

The third most important action is CONNECTING WITH CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY.

Prayer and studying God's Word are both very vital to our spiritual journey, but we were also created for community with each other. Attending church services regularly leads to growth. It also surrounds us with a family of believers who pray for us, lift us up, rejoice with us on the mountain tops, and walk with us through the valleys.

In 1 Corinthians 12:21-26, Paul compares the church to a body...each member uniquely working together. We all have strengths and weaknesses, but when we are unified for the advancement of God's Kingdom, we balance each other out.

Hebrews 10:24 reminds us to watch out for one another, to encourage each other to love and do good. Another way we can be in community with other Christians is by joining a small group if your church offers them. If not, I strongly encourage you to get a group of your friends and do a Bible study together.

Jesus Himself set the example for us when He surrounded Himself with His own “small group”. Though He had many followers and disciples, He had a core group that He relied on for prayer and fellowship, and accountability.

I can personally attest to the importance of being in a small group. God never intended for us to walk through this Christian life alone. We are called to walk through life with one another. The connections we have with other believers are so vital to our spiritual journey.

We need to encourage and build each other up. To press and push each other into a deeper, more immersed relationship with Jesus. Acts 2:42-44 is a perfect example of Christian community, but also shows the benefits of that community.

The early church not only experienced spiritual growth within their community of believers, but their faith was so contagious that many people were being saved every single day!

We all know that life can be downright tough sometimes. Having the support and encouragement of our brothers and sisters in Christ will help us as we walk this road of the Christian faith.
