How deep are the roots of your faith?
Jesus was teaching the multitude a parable comparing the sowing of plants to hearing the word of God. Seeds of a plant can be sowed in almost any ground. It is also true that the word of God can be heard almost anywhere. A seed can sprout up and begin to grow when planted. A person’s faith can also begin to grow when they hear the word of God. However, when a plant is not planted in solid ground it may not take root, then wither and die. This can also happen to a person’s faith. If you allow the cares of this world, sin, opinions of others, or worldly desires to interfere with your faith, it can become unfruitful, wither, and die. However, if the Word of God gets firmly planted into your heart, it will grow and become fruitful for God.
