A Year in Luke/Actsಮಾದರಿ

Isaiah 61 says: “For I, the Lord, love justice, I hate robbery and wrongdoing.” It is interesting to reflect on the fact that Jesus would then choose someone like Levi (Matthew) to follow Him as His disciple when he was probably involved in a lot of robbery and wrongdoing. But this is the way Jesus and His Kingdom work. Those who might have been on the outside are brought near. Even instigators and enablers have the opportunity for transformation.
There is a quote, often attributed to Timothy Keller, which says: “The church is not a museum for pristine saints, but a hospital ward for broken sinners.” This is very similar to Luke 5:31-32. As we gather for church, we are not doing so as people who think we have it all together, but as those who are desperate for the touch of Jesus and with a desire to live the Kingdom Life that He has made available for Humanity.
