The Raven and the Widowಮಾದರಿ

Day 3 The Unlikely
Widows, alongside orphans and the poor, constituted a largely marginalized community. Their societal status was perceived as burdensome, as they were compelled to rely on others for sustenance. Essentially, they were part of a welfare system. Nonetheless, this did not deter God from utilizing a widow to provide for the prophet Elijah.
It is remarkable to observe how God employs individuals or entities deemed insignificant, weak, or worthless according to human standards to demonstrate His power, strength, and capabilities. Throughout the scriptures, numerous instances can be found where God utilizes various means, including people and places, to accomplish His will in the lives of those chosen to reflect His glory.
The widow sustained the prophet, yet, paradoxically, her obedience enabled the prophet to sustain her. Ultimately, it is evident that God can employ the most unlikely sources to achieve His purposes in us. Consequently, it is essential for believers to refrain from judging based on outward appearances when seeking deliverance.
The help you seek and need could be divinely packaged in the most unlikely of sources.

God’s Sovereignty at times involves the employment of the unfamiliar, the unlikely, and the unexpected to bring about divine providence to His beloved children- stretching their faith. A raven and a widow were unusual sources of sustenance for Prophet Elijah, considering the reputation of each in ancient times. Yet what society deems strange or unusual God coronates as opportunity for stretching and blessing.
