Throne Throng by Hyatt Mooreಮಾದರಿ

Too Much for a Painting
The painting is based on Revelation 7 where people from every nation, tribe, people and language stand before the throne and the Lamb.
In John's vision, they were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
In my painting, “Throne Throng,” no one is wearing a white robe, nor is anyone holding a palm branch. But a single painting can only say so much. My emphasis is the the great inclusion, the mix of cultures that will be present at the gathering of the Lord, and representatives of each.
They are gathered to give glory to God, that glory indicated too simply with a strong light in the distance.
In that time, the Lord's presence will be all the light we need, even replacing the sun, and brighter, yet not blinding, our eyes being changed.
No painting or paintings could ever depict what John describes in his vision. Just the colors are far beyond an artist's palette . . . jasper and carnelian and emerald, all rainbow luminescent.
Though there is much greater to come, God's glory is around us now, and the deeper we look, the more we see. Then, however, our eyes will be opened; what we cannot take in now, we will see then.
And we will join all others assembled and say, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” (Rev. 4:8)
All this is too hard to paint. But no matter, we won't need a painting then; we'll be there.

About this Plan

At the Last Day, all tribes will be gathered before the throne of God. One painting cannot convey all that Revelation describes, but God's generous inclusion is a major part of it. Each devotional will focus on an aspect of the Last Day.
