The Risen Christ - Day 5

Jesus met up with some of His disciples as they walked along an ordinary road. He didn’t wait until they were in the temple, or celebrating a special event, He met them right where they were. Even when they didn’t recognize them, He didn’t walk away offended or punish them for their incompetence; He listened and talked and walked with them.

It makes me wonder, how often has God extended this same grace to me? How often has Jesus been present with me and I haven’t recognized it? In what ways has Jesus come and met me where I was but I was so busy trying to figure out the best place to meet Him that I didn’t recognize His presence.

What hope there is to know that, despite anything we can or can’t do, Jesus loves us enough to meet us where we are.
