Still a Christian!
The other day I realized that God has blessed me with one particular blessing for over 15,000 straight days, namely, the blessing of his keeping. “The Lord bless you and keep you” (Numbers 6:24). The Holy Spirit called me to faith in Jesus when I was little, and then he has kept me with Jesus for more than four decades. I haven’t always been healthy, but God has kept me a Christian. I haven’t always been wealthy, but God has kept me a Christian. I haven’t always been comfortable, but I have always had faith in Christ. One of my greatest spiritual blessings is God’s keeping.
You too? Maybe when you get out that gratitude journal or say your prayers at night, you could add this one to your thank-you list—Still a Christian! I read that post from someone who doesn’t believe the Bible, but it didn’t persuade me. I’m still a Christian! The devil wanted to lead me away from the church, the Bible, and the gospel, but God called me, preserved me, and kept me in the one true faith. I’m still a Christian! Despite countless demons, endless temptations, and my own sinful nature, the Lord has been kind enough to protect me from my soul’s greatest danger. Still a Christian!
Friend, you may not have everything you want in life, but if you (still) have faith, you are blessed. Thank God today for the blessing of his keeping!

When we think about being blessed, we often start from a perfect life and subtract all the good things we don’t have. Instead, God wants us to start from nothing and notice every good thing that we do have. This reading plan will help you do that.
