Be Youಮಾದರಿ

We all desire friendships that are life-giving, authentic, and where there is a strong sense of honor, support, and loyalty. That is exactly how God views friendship too.
Everything in scripture points towards God’s desire for his children to be in relationship with one another. Why? Because God Himself is relational. Not only does He operate in relationships within the trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but we see evidence of His desire to create authentic relationships with and among His sons and daughters.
We see this clearly throughout the documentation of Creation in Genesis, specifically in Genesis 2:18 when the Lord says, “It is not good that man should be alone,” and He created Eve to walk alongside Adam.
First and foremost, God created us to be in relationship with Him, and He craves connection with us. When we truly grasp this and set our sights on cultivating intimacy with Him and allowing Him to be the sole source of our needs, we are poised to operate in relationship with others the way He intended.
As women created in the image of God, He designed us to live in friendship with each other. He is not surprised by our deep hope for authentic friendships with other women. He wants that for us too.
Take a moment to reflect on what you need or hope for most from your friendships. As you read through this devotional over the next few days, ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart to hear from Him about where you need His truth or healing in your relationships.
