The circumstances surrounding Jesus' birth were unconventional at the very least. Mary gave birth to Jesus in a stable surrounded by animals and hazardous conditions. Only Jesus could arrive in such a chaotic way and still bring an atmosphere of peace. When the angels talked with the shepherds about Jesus, they announced that he was the one who would bring peace on earth. Jesus shows us from the beginning that peace isn't based on the circumstances surrounding our lives, but on who is present in our circumstances. Peace in life comes when Jesus is present in our lives.
Prayer
Jesus, fill me with the peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, I invite you to be present in every circumstance of my life.
Action
Identify an area in your life where you are not experiencing PEACE and begin to invite Jesus into it.
