Finding Peace in Relationshipsಮಾದರಿ

Does a maintenance plan come with this?
Have you noticed that the area in our lives with the greatest need for peace is with relationships? They can have this undertone of unease that rides around with you like an unwanted guest.
It may sound cliché that relationships take work, but that doesn’t make it any less true. With co-workers, friends, spouses, parents, children—I don’t know of one relationship that is on autopilot. And really, isn’t that what we want, too? For someone to care enough to maintain peace with us?
When we do have peace in a relationship, well, then the fun can begin, the memories, the laugh-until-you-cry times. It’s not peace just for peace’s sake but for the goodness that comes with it.
Act
Think of one person you want more peace with. Ask God for an idea on how to do this.
Pray
God, thank you that you want the good times for our relationships. Help me seek and maintain peace with those around me.

Whether it’s social media, the news, or our own households, it’s like no one wants to live in peace. Getting their own words heard—often forcibly—seems to be more important today than just about anything else. It’s exhausting, all this posturing and shouting. What if we start creating spaces of peace? Think what might happen if all these little pockets of peace started popping up all over our communities.
