Expecting the One With Many Namesಮಾದರಿ

JESUS, OUR FRIEND!
According to John 3:17, Jesus did not come into the world to condemn but to save it! That sounds like a friend to me! No greater love has a man than to lay down his life for his friends. That is what Jesus did! He is indeed a ‘Friend of Sinners!’
“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a ‘friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.” Matthew 11:19
When God decided to send His only Son, Jesus, into the world in human form, He sent the best Gift He had. When Jesus went willingly to the cross for our sins, there was no more excellent Gift of God! A ‘Gift’ was another perfect name for Jesus!
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable ‘gift!”2 Corinthians 9:15
Jesus is also called ‘God.’ We believe He is the triune God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit! The verse in John 1:1 describes Him as God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and Word was ‘God.”John 1:1
Just as our children might be considered our ‘glory,’ Here, the Lord’s Glory is described as His Son Jesus. The Glory of God is another part of the persona of Jesus!
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the ‘glory’ of the Lord rises upon you.” Isaiah 60:1
LET US PAUSE:
In today’s pause, think of your salvation; how it is the most indescribable Gift you have ever been given? Think of how we are sinners, yet this friend of ours laid down His life so He could provide us with this beautiful Gift.
