People Over Programಮಾದರಿ

ENEMIES ARE PEOPLE TOO
Jonah ended up in the belly of a fish because he did not want to prophesy to the people of Nineveh. He knew if they heard God’s ultimatum and repented, God would forgive them.
Jonah had preferred the original plan. Nineveh was Israel’s enemy, and God was about to destroy it just like he had done to all Israel’s enemies in the past.
But Jonah knew the God he served. If someone repents, even if they are his enemies, God will turn his anger away from them.
That was exactly what happened in Nineveh. They heard God’s message through Jonah, and one hundred and twenty thousand people repented. And so, as Jonah had feared, God relented and did not go through with his threat.
In this devotional series, we have learned that God is willing to wait, adjust, and even stop for the ones he loves. But today, we’ve learned that God is willing to do the same for his enemies because his enemies are people, too.
So today, I’m asking you to stop for your enemies when they need help. Please adjust your schedule and plans to accommodate those out to get you. Please wait for the people who are plotting your downfall. These guys are people, too; there is nothing more precious than people in the Kingdom of God.
