The Mystery of Fasting

There are some concepts in the scriptures that we must just choose to believe. Science has now discovered a multitude of benefits for our bodies when we fast. All of these benefits were designed by and known by our Creator. However, there will always be a faith element in our spiritual disciplines, including fasting.

We follow a perfect Saviour who chose to fast in His pursuit of God's will and who invites us to do the same. During Jesus' documented earthly fast, angels came and ministered to Him. Stir up an expectant heart for supernatural things to happen as you pray and fast in your pursuit of Him.

In our story, Esther calls the people of God to fast for her as she steps out to speak on their behalf. Immediately when Mordecai declared the Truth, courage was birthed in Esther. Her authority as God's child was seeded as she called the people to purpose. She had made her choice to stand on the side of Truth … to go in to see the King … ‘though it is against the law’.
