Hannah and Samuelಮಾದರಿ

Responsibility And Foundation
The story of Samuel and Hannah is very dear to my heart, so much so I named my own son Samuel. After trying to conceive a child for many years, God blessed my husband and I with a son when I was 40.
I can only imagine how Hannah must have felt leaving her son at the temple with Eli. Even though she kept her promise and gave him to the Lord, she was still a mum, with a loving motherly heart.
Look at 1 Samuel 2:19: ‘Each year his mother made him a little robe and took it to him…’ She never really let go of her responsibility; every time she came, she brought a new little robe for her growing Samuel. She dedicated the child to the Lord, and she was just as dedicated in taking care of the child. And Samuel grew from a godly child to a godly man. Chapter 2:11, ‘… the boy ministered to the Lord before Eli the priest’. Then verse 26, ‘Now the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and with people’.
From the time Samuel was three, he ministered to the Lord for his entire life. There is no loss when we give every bit of our lives to the Lord. Hannah, who built her life on the rock, knew there was no firmer foundation. She was an example of worship to her son, and God blessed Hannah with more sons and two daughters. And Samuel, would go on to be God’s prophet for a nation.
