 Somebody once told me an acronym about how to get more of God's word into me.

Most people do good at getting INTO God's Word but they don't do a good job of getting God's Word into THEM.

The acronym was HEART. Each letter stands for a discipline that is important.

H is for Hear as in listening to sermons

E is for Examine as in reading

A is for Analyze or study.

R is for Remember as in memorizing

T is for Think or meditate

They told me that the first four letters are for the four fingers of your hand. And they are very helpful and all necessary to get a balanced understanding of God's word.

The last letter is for your Thumb. Imagine picking up a Bible without the thumb.

So, memorizing God's Word allows you to spend more time meditating on it therefore you can apply it more.

James 1:25 has all 5 of the HEART METHODS in it.
