Day 5: God Can Redeem Anything
If you had told us twelve years ago that our deepest pain would one day become our greatest ministry, we wouldn’t have believed you. Nothing about postpartum psychosis felt purposeful. Nothing about the psychiatric hospitals, the depression, the fear, or the tears felt redeemable. It felt like a season we simply needed to survive.
But that’s the thing about God. He doesn’t waste anything. Not your suffering. Not your questions. Not your story.
Over time, God began redeeming pieces of our journey we thought were too broken to ever be used. The same season that nearly destroyed our family became the testimony God used to encourage others. The pain that once silenced us became the message that now helps people find their voice. What once felt like the darkest chapter of our lives became the beginning of a calling we never saw coming.
We don’t say this lightly:
God can redeem anything.
Not instantly. Not always in the way we imagined.
But fully. Beautifully. Completely.
Redemption doesn’t erase the past. It transforms it.
When Jesus fed the five thousand, Scripture says the disciples gathered the leftovers so “nothing would be wasted.” That is the heart of God. He gathers every leftover piece of your story, the brokenness, the sorrow, the sleepless nights, the confusion, and says, “Watch what I can do with this.”
Today, we speak at conferences, help couples in crisis, pray with struggling families, and share our book with thousands because God turned our valley into a ministry. But the goal isn’t for people to see our strength. It’s for them to see His.
Your story may not look like ours, but this truth is the same:
If you place your broken pieces in God’s hands, He will build something beautiful from them.
There is no pain too deep, no season too dark, and no past too messy for Him to use.
Nothing is wasted in the hands of a Redeemer.
Reflection Question:
What part of your story have you believed God could never use? How might He be wanting to redeem it?
