Safe and Secure in Christ - 1ნიმუში

Growing, Not Perfect Yet
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished…” — Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
When you gave your life to Christ, something powerful happened — you became a new creation. Your sins were forgiven, your past was washed away, and God’s Spirit came to live inside you. That’s the starting point of a new life in Christ.
But becoming a new creation doesn’t mean you instantly stop struggling or suddenly become perfect. Many young Christians get discouraged when they still find themselves battling old habits, temptations, or weaknesses. Some even wonder, “If I’m truly saved, why am I still struggling with this?”
The answer is simple: Salvation happens instantly, but transformation happens daily.
Think of a baby. The moment a child is born, they are fully alive — but they still need to grow. They learn to crawl, walk, talk, and eventually mature. In the same way, when you got saved, you were spiritually reborn. Now, you are learning to grow in Christ.
God is patient with your process.
Becoming more like Jesus is a journey, not a race to perfection. God is not shocked by your weaknesses. He knows your struggles, and He is committed to walking with you through them. Philippians 1:6 assures us that God Himself is completing the work He started in us — not us.
Yes, Jesus has fully saved you, but the Holy Spirit is now shaping you, transforming your character, renewing your mind, and teaching you to walk in victory. Some changes may be immediate, but others take time, prayer, and spiritual growth.
The enemy wants you to focus on your flaws, so you feel unworthy. God wants you to focus on His grace so you can grow. Your weakness isn’t proof that you are not saved — it’s proof that you need Jesus daily.
Growth is not about never falling — it’s about getting up and becoming stronger each time. Real spiritual maturity is not perfection; it’s consistency. Keep showing up. Keep seeking God. Keep obeying even when it’s hard. One day, you will look back and see how far God has brought you.
Remember: God is not looking for perfection — He is looking for surrender.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for making me a new creation in Christ. Thank You for being patient with my journey and for working daily in my life. Help me trust Your process and rely on Your strength to grow. Teach me to walk with You consistently, knowing You will finish the work You started in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
