Releasing The Human Clutch II
We saw that the human clutch are the things we hold tight to as a premise for God’s intervention. They are mostly the strongholds we have set up in our hearts that inadvertently hinder God in our lives.
While we must be diligent and intentional in our pursuit of God, ultimately, our faith must lay hold on God’s mercy and not our merits. You must pull down strongholds, arguments and all arrogance raised against the truth of God’s love and goodwill towards His children.
Under the Old Testament, God’s people had to cross the t's and dot the i's to qualify for God’s blessing. Now God’s disposition towards us is premised on His grace. The New Testament now gives a fuller expression of God’s extravagant generosity in our experience.
A good illustration of how many believers allow their human clutch to cause them more pain and delay is like a baby grips its own hair tightly. The tighter it pulls, the more it hurts, yet it won’t let go. The enemy is hurting you by making you clutch on to your works, your guilt, mistakes, your pain, and your disadvantage. Release your grip from such and lay hold on God’s generosity.
Sound Code:
Lord, help me to let go of every form of human clutch. Help me to rest in Your promises. Amen.
