Remember where it all Began

When did it all begin? Genesis 1 provides a beautiful account of the world before any destruction and sin, the state that God intended for you to live in. Think about it. Walking in the cool of the day, shoulder to shoulder, face to face with God, the Creator of the Cosmos. Imagine being given the responsibility to name all the animals that scurry along the ground and swim in the sea, or to cultivate the ground and plants. This portrays the life that God created for you and enables you to recall God’s promise through Jesus that you will live in a similar world for all eternity—a world without sin.

When you look around, you can find reminders of God's greatness, glory, and power. Creation itself bears witness and reminders that He is God. As a child of God, you can perceive His goodness and faithfulness in what is around you, be it the sky, stars, rain, animals, and even people. Even the look into children’s faces or the face of a newborn baby can remind you of the power of God, His absolute dominion and authority. Through this, you are led to wonder with awe and majesty at the grandeur of God. This is what remembrance does: it opens the doors to gratitude and a greater desire to love and live for God.

Prayer

Our Father in Heaven, I thank You that it is easy to remember Your goodness and faithfulness when I look around and remember how You lavishly poured out Your love for me through Your creation. Amen.
