Worth the Wait: Living Pure in a Culture of Pressure

DAY 1 OF 5

God’s Design for Love and Relationships

Love is one of God’s greatest ideas. From the very beginning, He created relationships as a reflection of His own nature — selfless, faithful, and pure. In Genesis 2:24, we read, "That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh."

God’s design for romance is beautiful — it’s not meant to harm us, but to help us grow in trust, respect, and joy. He wants us to experience love that honors Him and builds us up, not love that drains or distracts us.

But culture often flips the script. We’re told that love is all about feelings, attraction, and instant gratification. Yet when love is rushed or built outside of God’s boundaries, it often leaves heartbreak and regret.

1 Corinthians 13:4–7 describes real love — patient, kind, not self-seeking. God’s way may take longer, but it always leads to life. His boundaries aren’t fences to keep you from fun; they’re guardrails to keep you from falling.

When we follow His design, love becomes something that points us closer to Him — and that’s the kind of relationship worth waiting for.

Reflection

What does God’s design for love teach you about how you view dating and purity?

Prayer

Lord, thank You for designing love with purpose. Teach me to see relationships through Your eyes and to wait for love that reflects Your heart. Amen.
