Signal Fire - 1 Thessaloniansნიმუში

Paul shifts gears here: “Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.” Their love was already noticeable—but Paul urges them to “do so more and more.” Love isn’t a box we check; it’s a lifestyle we keep growing in. There’s always more room to show love, more opportunities to embody Christ’s heart.
This is such an encouragement: God Himself teaches us how to love. He doesn’t just command it and leave us guessing—He models it through Jesus and works it into us through His Spirit. Our role is to lean in and keep expanding that love in practical, tangible ways.
Look for one fresh way to show love this week—whether it’s encouragement, generosity, or patience. Stretch yourself to love “more and more.”
- Where have you already seen growth in how you love others?
- What holds you back from loving “more and more”?
- How can you make space this week for God to teach you how to love?

About this Plan

"Signal Fire" is a devotional through 1 Thessalonians, showing how our lives are meant to shine as indicators of God’s love. Like a fire seen from a distance, faith that is lived out brings direction, warmth, and hope. Paul celebrates the Thessalonians because their faith, love, and endurance became a signal fire to others, spreading well beyond their city. This devotional invites us to tend the flame God has placed in us, so our everyday lives point people to Jesus and burn brightly with the hope of His return.
