BibleProject | One Story That Leads to Jesusნიმუში

You entered the Bible’s story in Genesis 1, when God was first forming creation. In today’s final reading, you’re standing on the threshold of God’s renewed creation.
Imagine walking barefoot through cool grass. You pass a lamb snuggled up to a lion. You hear water rippling down a living stream. You’re eating lunch in an orchard, deep in conversation with God. It’s what the first humans felt like back at their orchard in Eden.
God built human beings for endless life in a garden with him. And ever since our exile in Genesis 3, we have been longing to return. Now, in the closing two chapters of Revelation, hunger gives way to homecoming. John puts the finishing touches on his letter, tying together the whole of Scripture with humanity’s long-awaited return home—or rather, home comes to us.
Watch today’s video to see how the entire biblical story has been leading to this point, the union of Heaven and Earth.
Congratulations on finishing this reading plan! May your investment of time and attention provide a life-long reminder that in Jesus, God makes all things new, including you.
May you take to heart John’s final blessing: “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all” (Rev. 22:21).
Reflection Questions
- Reflect on the promises of God you have encountered throughout the Scriptures. How do you see them finding fulfillment in today’s reading? What do you see that still awaits completion?
- Compare Genesis 1-2 with Revelation 21-22. What hyperlinks do you notice? What have you learned from the first and last chapters of the Bible about God’s hopes for humanity?
