Water for Your Thirstნიმუში

It's Going to Rain
There are places so desolate that they need an extraordinarily abundant rain to make a difference. They are extremely dry and barren places that remain parched for years without a single green leaf in sight. The ground is cracked as if crying out for someone to mercifully fill them.
The reality is that there are times in life when the soul is deeply broken and longs intensely to receive some fresh water from heaven. For those who don't have Christ in their lives, this drought increases because it's not just caused by difficult circumstances but by a drought of the soul that lacks the water of life.
For those of us who are in Christ—who have the water that wells up to eternal life and who, according to Christ's promise, will never be thirsty again—the drought we may experience amid life's difficult situations makes us look to heaven with the faith that we will receive the rain our soul needs.
The psalmist proclaimed with faith the precious truth that God sends his rain to water our soul. Psalm 84:5-6 (NIV) says, "Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools."
By praying before the Most High, we are watered with the water of life. When we read his Word, the rain begins to fill the pools. When we meditate on his wonderful works, our heaven opens, and the divine rain wets us. When our soul is thirsty, we have somewhere to go; we are not in a desert from which we cannot escape. Our Almighty God brings rain to our soul, the dry becomes green, and the broken is healed.
That is our faith, a faith based on divine promises. A faith that holds on to Jesus' promise in John 4:14 (NIV): "Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
If you haven't yet surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, do it today. Ask him to forgive your sins and be your Redeemer and Savior. Jesus said in John 6:35 (NIV), "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
But if your life already belongs to the Lord, hold on to his promises. Trust in his merciful grace and his infinite love. He wants to satisfy your soul. The drops of his goodness, his strength, and his peace are already beginning to fall on your head. Feel the rain of his blessing filling your life, satisfying your thirst. As Jeremiah 31:25 (NIV) says, "I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint."
