Another Chance!

DAY 2 OF 7

Moses Had Another Chance!

In the Bible, there are similar stories. Let’s look at the story of Moses. During the days of his birth, Pharaoh, seeing that the people of Israel were multiplying, decided to kill all the newborn Hebrew boys. The male children of Moses’ generation were slaughtered, but God preserved his life. He was raised by Pharaoh’s daughter as her own son and taught by his real mother, who instructed him in the Word of God. Moses was trained for war, leadership, and governance, yet he had a divine calling in his spirit — to deliver God’s people from Egyptian slavery. God’s plan was unfolding in his life.

At age 40, it entered Moses’ heart to visit his brothers, where he witnessed an Egyptian beating a Hebrew and, in defense of the Israelite, gave in to his anger and killed the Egyptian. The news of the murder reached Pharaoh’s palace, and Moses had to flee to the desert of Midian, where he remained for 40 years. Because of his uncontrolled character, he had lost his opportunity. There he had a family and became a shepherd for his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. In the wilderness, he grieved deeply over his untamed character and carried the weight of knowing he had ruined God’s plan.

At 80 years old, Moses was looking for pasture for his father-in-law’s sheep and reached Mount Horeb. Suddenly, he saw a bush burning with fire, but it was not consumed. As he approached it, he heard the voice of God, who told him He had heard the cry of Israel and was sending him to deliver His people. God gave him another chance!
