Awestruck: 30 Days of Wonder in the Bible

DAY 24 OF 30

The stone rolled away. Grave clothes lay folded to the side. Angels announced what no one expected:

Jesus had risen.

Picture Mary Magdalene's confusion when she found the empty tomb. Her grief turned to panic. Her worst fears seemed confirmed. But then the angels spoke words that shattered every assumption about how this story would end.

In a culture that dismissed women's testimony, God chose women as the first witnesses of the resurrection. He entrusted them, not kings or priests, with the greatest news in history. Their voices carried the wonder of an empty tomb to a world that desperately needed to hear it.

The resurrection didn't just reverse death. It launched a new creation.

The same power that raised Jesus now gives life to everyone who believes. Paul later wrote that if Christ had not risen, faith would collapse. But Christ did rise, and hope stands unshaken.

Here's the wonder: the tomb stands empty still. No empire, no enemy, not even death itself could hold Jesus.

When you open your Bible, even on your hardest day, you don't read in the shadow of defeat. You read in the light of victory: Jesus lives.

And because He lives, everything changes.

Reflect:

How does the empty tomb stir your awe of God's power?

Tomorrow we'll witness God keep His promise—and why it changes everything about reading His Word.
