The Promised Land

DAY 15 OF 30

DAY FIFTEEN— The Covenant Confirmed

At Mount Sinai, God invited Israel into something extraordinary: a covenant relationship sealed by sacrifice and blood. The people heard God’s words, and with one voice they responded, “Everything the Lord has said we will do.” Moses built an altar, offered sacrifices, and sprinkled the blood as a sign of the covenant between God and His people.

What followed is one of the most breathtaking moments in Scripture: Moses, Aaron, the elders, and others went up the mountain and saw God. Scripture tells us they beheld His glory. The holy God of the universe welcomed them into fellowship.

Just as Israel’s covenant was sealed in blood, our covenant with God is sealed by the blood of Christ. Through Him, we are invited not only to behold God’s glory but to commune with Him—sharing in fellowship at His table. God calls us into relationship. He desires a people who will walk with Him, worship Him, and live in His presence.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • How does Israel’s covenant at Sinai help you better understand the meaning of Jesus’ “new covenant” in His blood?
  • Where in your life do you need to renew your “yes” to God’s Word and His ways?
  • How does it encourage you to know that God not only delivers His people but also welcomes them into fellowship with Himself?

About this Plan

The Promised Land

THE PROMISED LAND and Milk and Honey Productions have created this plan to help individuals and groups engage the story of Exodus and Leviticus in a fresh way. In this 30-day devotional, you’ll see clips from THE PROMISED LAND, read passages of Scripture, and reflect on questions that connect Israel’s journey to your own walk of faith. Through humor, reverence, and honesty, we’ll discover that God uses ordinary, imperfect people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.
