Day 25: The Cross

Daily Thread: The crucifixion is the central moment of salvation history, fulfilling the sacrificial system God established in the Law. Jesus is the true Passover Lamb, whose blood brings deliverance (Exodus 12). He is also the atoning sacrifice of the Day of Atonement, where the high priest entered God’s presence to make atonement for sin (Leviticus 16). Isaiah 53 describes Him as the suffering servant who bore the sins of many. At the cross, all these sacrificial images are fulfilled in Christ once for all.
