DAY 3 OF 15

GENESIS 39

In Joseph’s story, we see how patient he was, even in the midst of tribulations. Whether sold or unjustly imprisoned, Joseph’s actions revealed that he recognized God’s control in every situation. Moreover, the Bible states several times that the Lord was with him—and that made Joseph trustworthy. Joseph was faithful to the Lord, and because of that, in times of injustice and pain, he found favor with God.

Jesus was unjustly accused. Jesus died unjustly. He went to the cross like a silent lamb led to the slaughter (Isaiah 53:7). But both Joseph and Jesus remained firm, patient, and faithful. Both knew they were not alone in those times of affliction—God was with them, and that was enough. They didn’t need to justify themselves, because God’s justice was enough for them.

LET’S PRAY:

We have all heard and know that we need to be patient. It is part of the fruit of the Spirit! The truth is that God is love, and love is patient. God is patient! Often, we feel dissatisfied with ourselves, and we want to grow up quickly. We want to experience the things God has for us in the future—but we want them now. This leads to frustration, dissatisfaction with the present, and demands greater than we can bear. God's patience is not about “enduring” or “putting up with” the present—it's about enjoying it! It's about loving the process and appreciating the timing of all things. Ask the Spirit to reveal God's patience in every area of your life.
