30 Days With God’s Alive and Active Wordნიმუში

The Voice That Speaks Life into Death
“Jesus called in a loud voice: ‘¡Lazarus, come out!’ And the dead man came out…” John 11:43.
This wasn’t a metaphor. It wasn’t poetic language. It was a truly lifeless body wrapped in grave clothes, carrying the stench of death, hearing an impossible voice… and coming back to life.
Jesus didn’t speak to Lazarus like someone offering advice. He shouted life into him. With just one sentence, He brought a soul back. That’s how powerful His voice is. That’s how alive His word still is.
And if He could do that with a dead body, what can’t He do with a soul that feels tired, dry, or disappointed? Because there are days when you just feel like that: faith buried, hope bound in graveclothes, your heart wrapped in disappointments that already smell like surrender.
Christ’s voice doesn’t come to mourn the soul’s funeral, but to interrupt it, and reverse death.
Spurgeon once wrote, “The Word of God never arrives late: it comes when all hope is gone, to show that He is the resurrection.” And we’ve seen it through history, at the cross, and if you surrender to His voice today, you’ll see it in your life too.
God’s Word isn’t fleeting inspiration. It’s the same voice that will one day raise the dead. And if it holds the power to give eternal life with a single command, it can certainly raise what has died inside you.
Prayer
Lord, You didn’t whisper into the ear of the sick; You spoke to the tomb. That’s what Your Word is like: it brings life and hope. If my faith feels cold, if my soul is burdened, if I’m walking but barely breathing… say my name. Let Your voice raise me, not just back to who I was, but into the person You created me to be.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
